Nomading Midwest Trip, Day 5: Carter Caves

On Saturday, Lincoln and Ashley took us to Carter Caves. Not much to say...I spent time enjoying taking pictures; the kids, Lincoln, Ashley, and the twins skipped rocks, tried to skip rocks, or just threw rocks in the water. We just loved being in nature. Being there you could just feel how ancient it was.

The drive through the forest was like a magical fairyland.

Look closely and you'll see the swirl of a fossil.

"I found a heart rock!" I love that even though you can't see her mouth, you can see in her eyes how happy she is. I also love that right after this she threw it in the stream.

At the very top of the rocks where the waterfall was coming from. I found a lanyard with keys and sunglasses up there. One then spent time running around seeing if they belonged to anyone who was still in the area. He finally succeeded and the owner gave him $10.
